Projects In The

Pipeline

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT – LARGE PROJECTS IN THE PIPELINE

JEFF PEZZUTTI PARK

Our well used and loved Jeff Pezzutti Sporting Precinct is getting an upgrade.

We held the first consultations back in 2017, having events on site with kids, talking with residents and clubs.  This led to the first Masterplan draft which showed the stages of the improvements to come.  We have just completed the second lot of consultations to ensure we are up to date with community desires for the site.

Stage 1 – Signalisation of the Windarra & Rigg Street intersection to enable safe crossing for school children.  This also meant that one of the Tennis Courts had to be removed.

Stage 2 – New Tennis Courts (International size built at the Henley Street Tennis complex to replace the removed courts on Windarra Street.  Woree Tennis Club & Earlville Tennis club have now merged and going forward with this great new facility.

With Stages 1 and 2 now been completed, this now leads us to the next exciting development at Jeff Pezzutti Park:

·       Multi-level street style skate park

·       Basketball/Mixed use Court

·       District level playground

·       Pump Track

·       General improvements to visibility, CCTV monitoring, accessible pathways, shade, seating, improved land works etc.

WHITE ROCK COMMUNITY &

MULTI-CULTURAL CENTRE

One of my first goals back in 2015 was to advocate for land to build a much needed community centre in White Rock.  In 2016 we were successful in obtaining a 30 + 30 year lease with Education Queensland/State Government for the land on 3.8hectares of land behind the school on Tiffany Street.

Design is now underway, consultation has been done with a diverse range of local residents, sporting and cultural groups along with various community service providers.  Grants have also been applied for to develop sporting fields.  It is all quite exciting as this project is nearing its launch, which should be this year.

WHITE ROCK FISHING PLATFORM

White Rock as we know is home to many young families, a hidden gem with a diverse ecology.  With youth always looking for activities, fishing rates pretty high!  The probability of meeting a crocodile also is high, so we continue looking for funding to get an elevated fishing platform constructed in the area off Tarantino Street.
